3D TVs

3D TV is the way of the future. Cutting edge digital technologies have transformed high quality 3D TV from science fiction into the cinema and now your lounge room. The film industry has embraced the added excitement that 3D brings with the world's key TV manufacturers now offering a completely new home entertainment experience.

 PLASMA TV

Plasma TV uses lots of tiny gas Plasma cells charged by an electrical voltage to create an image. Generally Plasma is able to display deeper blacks resulting in an increase in contrast creating more detail in dark scenes. Mostly available in size from 106cm (42") and larger. Plasma offers exceptional value for money. Plasma TV is effective for night time viewing or in a darker room in your home.

 LCD TVs

Available in size from 43cm (17") upwards to 139cm (55"). LCD TVs are generally light, making them easy to wall mount or move around the home. LCD TVs are typically preferred in a brightly lit room, as the screen is non reflective and there is minimal glare.

Both Plasma and LCD TV have their strengths and weaknesses; what's best for you depends on the intended use.

 LED BACKLIT LCD TVs

Standard LCD TVs use a fluorescent tube to backlight the picture and shine through the layer of LCD. LED TVs are LCD TVs which use LED (Light Emitting Diode) as the backlight instead of fluorescent tubes.

There are two types of LED backlight: direct and edge. Direct LED as the name suggests sits directly behind the panel. It has the ability to turn off sections of the screen reulting in higher contrasts. Edge LED uses a series of LEDs along the edge of the screen resulting in a much thinner profile TV.

IP TV*

IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) allows you to easily access internet content on your TV through a simple, remote-control friendly interface. This is usually done using little programs called 'widgets' to help you navigate the content that you want.

Excellent for watching online videos on the big screen with friends, it's also a fantastic way of keeping up with your favourite TV programs through various catch up websites.

*Requires broadband internet connection, data costs may apply as per your broadband plan.
